Frack me! Oh, and more minis

Right, let's start with a rant. First, my external hard-drive is dead, no more power. Grrr. I had put there all the papers I had scanned for the past 4 years... and lots of pics and my lessons. Fortunately, my wife had a back-up for the papers, so nothing important is lost, but then. And a few hours ago, my desktop's Windows decided not to start, again, for the third time in less than a year... I'm currently using my wife's old laptop...I think it's because of a conflict between HP softwares and windows, but, this time, I should reboot everything, less than a month after having done so. FRACKKKKKKKKKKKKK. So, tomorrow morning, back to John Lewis to know what's wrong. I hope to get a refund and buy something else.

Anyway, enough of rant, we're here to talk about minis, right? Still painting my TYW army, I've now done the Schaumburg infantry regiment. Another Saxon unit, with very nice flags. The problem is, they switched sides after the peace of Prague of 1635, and subsequently should'nt fight alongside the French.... Bah, who cares anyway.

  1. Good looking bunch, Seb. I really like the look of these attractive turncoats and their flags are super.

Sorry to hear about your tech woes. Nothing sucks up a day like your hardward AND software going down.

  2. Bummer about your hard drive - I put very little faith in computers, although we all use and "need" them. A sort of love-hate relationship I suppose.

Otherwise, fantastic unit - I've yet to venture into the period, but your work makes it very appealing.

    Best, Dean

  4. Great looking unit. Sorry about the PC, it sucks when that happens.

  5. You information on your external hard drive is probably still redeemable (if it's actually just a power issue). External hard drives are really just a normal (internal) hard drive inside an enclosure (that gives it power and a connect-ability to other computers).

You could have anyone who is comfortable with computer hardware just pull the hard drive out of the enclosure and put it in your desktop to see if the info is still there...

Those figures are very nice, this is a period I have not tried but your work is tempting me.

  8. Nothing more frustrating and annoying than when technology lets you down; on the plus side that is a cracking unit you've done! Hope you get your refund tomorrow.
