Choices of the week#25

Oh the shame! Oh the horror! Once again I forgot to do my review last week. Well, blogging is seriously disrupted by the major event of the moment, and I admit watching a lot of games on TV. Besides, I 've had some administrative stuff to do, related to my next year temporary new job. I'll be finally able to teach in front of classes! Hurray!

Quelle honte!

Choices of the week #23

Ah yes. Father's day. The only day where we are supposed to do nothing but what we like.... Right. I prefer spending some time at work at the moment, simply because there is nothing to do, and I can then paint a bit ;). Unless I watch the games. Well done Les Bleus!

Choices of the week #22

Hello everyone. Is summer finally here? Yes, we still have rainy, or should I say stormy, days, but the temperatures are finally bearable. It means more family time for us, and less time for painting, unless you're well organized and manage to get some spare time to prime your minis outside. Lucky you. Anyway, on to the review.

Salut a tous.

Choices of the week#21

I seem to suffer the common painting blues, meaning I know I want to paint, but I'm not in the mood to do it. Almost every evening, I prepare my desk, but then, put everything back, and go watch the TV or read a book. Damn. It's been like this for a month now. And to make matters worse, my daughter was sick, and then I caught a cold. bugger. Anyway, I still manage to read the blogs and, though I don't comment every time (sorry about that), I keep doing my homework ;)

Choices of the week #20 and celebration

First of all, Thanks to Gregory Geilman, I'm now over 200 followers! Thanks everyone!

Now, onto the review, under a rainy day... It might be the day I finally pick up my brushes, again, after a month...

Choices of the week #19

Hello everyone.
The sun is finally here, and I'm sure you've been enjoying it. I sure did. Nonetheless, I've read the blogs and managed to write my compilation, though I didn't paint at all. I know I also have a lot of batreps to write. They will come. And sorry for not having published this post yesterday, but I didn't have access to my PC since Saturday.

Salut a tous.

Choices of the week#18

First of all, my sincere apologies for not having published my weekly review last Monday. But to be fair, I had just come back home from France, with my daughter, and after a two days tournament.
This week was also very quiet after my painting frenzy, and also because I can't play the lonely caveman when my in-laws are with us, can I? So It's now time to resume our routine, and I assure you I will post a lot more, since I have a lot to show you, and a lot of batreps to write down.

Here we go

On y va.

Choices of the week #17

Hello everyone. I'm back from the tournament, and it felt good to meet people playing the same game, in a good mood, sometimes talking nonsense. I managed to finish my army in the nick of time, doing the flocking in my hotel room on Friday night. Here is the proof:

I played a Syracusan army, with more or less success. I'll tell you more about it later, I still have the pics to sort out. And now, I have to paint some stuff for another tournament next week-end, in Lyon. Yepee. But before that, let's do our weekly review. At least, if our internect connection allows me to do it... Bugger

Choices of the week #16

Once more unto the brush, my friends!
Seven weeks after the last ones, I'm on holidays with my daughter, enjoying the sun with my parents. It has therefore been a bit chaotic to catch up with all the blogs for the past few days, but here we are. Just for you, I take the time to do it, although I should paint the army I'll play next week-end. Fortunately for me, 40% was already painted, here and there in other army boxes. But still. i have a lot to do, and I'm certainly rushing it. Anyway, back to the past week best posts.

Choices of the week #15- I Salute you

Right, I know I did a poor play on words, but honestly, if you don't know about Salute, what are you doing here? Indeed, the main event this past week was the Salute from the South London Warlords. Instead of giving you a full listing of posts, full of pics, I'll give you only one. One? Yes, but this blogger did all the job for me and he compiled all the posts about the event. Thanks mate!
http://wargameterrain.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/the-big-salute-link-and-picture-report.html

So, now that is done, what could we expect this week? Well, I must say everyone was fixed on this event, but I managed to find some good stuff.

First of all, there happened to be, last week, a convention in France, and we have some nice pictures:
http://figs.over-blog.com/2014/04/petites-guerres-2014-en-images.html

A nice batrep between Galatians and Seleucids, using Hail Caesar, in 28mm:
http://satrapminiatures.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/galatians-versus-early-seleucids.html

A nice, if small, batrep in 28mm using Fire and Fury:
http://baronvonj.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/acw-thursday-fire-frustration.html

Another batrep set during a Longstreet campaign:

And another one, with Black Powder, set in 1866, still in 28mm:

Some SYW using Maurice (for Kolin):

Some good ol' West:

A last one, between Rome and Pontus:

Time for some WIPs and tutorials. Shall we start with someone who made an armoured train for the VBCW:
http://shedwars.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/the-armoured-train.html

I didn't know those vids existed. Now I'm feeling less stupid, with these how to's:
http://troubleatthemill.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/painting-videos-from-wss.html

A new German brand of primer has been tested. Convincing:
http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/mu-44-model-mates-primer.html

And here we have a review of the new Vallejo paint sets:
http://www.coloureddust.com.pl/2014/04/vallejo-painting-sets.html

Jim continues his reflexions about Fall-Out:
http://arlequinsworld.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/fallout-as-miniatures-game.html

Now for the eye-candy. I'll start immediately with a superb Kingtiger in winter camo:
http://rustandthecity.blogspot.ca/2014/04/winter-king-tiger.html

Then we have Anne's new paint jobs, with a special liking the car lady:
http://fortwitter.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/a-new-direction.html

Monty is still painting his Spartan army in 15mm:
http://twincitiesfieldofglory.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/spartan-army-continues.html

Next, we have some sheer Prussian porn, with Criag's 15mm Napoleonic brigade:
http://napoleonicsinminiature.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/craigs-prussian-1st-brigade.html

Marc has started painting a Mughal army. His elephant is gorgeous:
http://marcofwar2.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/the-book-that-rule.html

And I'll finish with a splendid 28mm vignette, showing Gonzague crossing the Taro (set during the early Italian wars ):

Choices of the week#14

My my my. My week has been pretty exhausting, with a very short wee-end, since I worked on Saturday. I have some ACW stuff to finish for my game on Thursday. And after, long live the Greeks! I have to paint more stuff for a tournament, and I don't know if I'll have enough time. Anyway, back to the review!

Ben mes aieux, quelle semaine. Zou.

Choices of the week #13

What what what! This review is published on Monday! Indeed it is. After reflexion, I've come to consider the practicality of the Monday post for the review, since it allows me to read a bit more posts, published during the evening/night. So, from now on, The weekly review will be online on Mondays. Cheerio

Choices of the week #12

I haven't touched a brush for the past two weeks. Not that I didn't want to paint, I wanted to, but I was always to exhausted after a good day's work. I was so tired I completely neglected to post comments on many blogs. I started to catch on them yesterday. Yup, must be the weather. So, because of that, I didn't finish my last entries for Curt's challenge, which would have scored enough points to reach my goals... Sad. Anyway, back to this week's review. Oh, btw, I prepare a review of JUGULA for next week, I have received the rules ;)

Alors restez connectes.

Choices of the week #11

Sometimes, they win. The arena is a cruel place
The sun is finally showing its glow, and we can feel its warmth. We, at last, can go outside to prime and varnish our minis. Soon enough, it will be hotter, and the skirts will be shorter... Now wait a minute. Anyway, it's time for our weekly review.

Choices of the week #10

Ah well. No post yesterday. But it's perfectly understandable, since first I was at work for the day, and, the weather was so nice. It was today too, and frankly, staying indoors was a pain, while the sun was shining. So, out we went. But now, night has fallen, and I can finally go back to my dear blog and chronicle.

Mais me revoila.

Choices of the week #9

Wow. I'm now entering the third month of this weekly exercise. I quite enjoy itand some of you clearly like it too. Thanks a lot. It's a bit of work, but worth the efforts. I'm back from my holidays, and so are many of you, since we're back to the usual 800-ish posts. But before going back, let us savour this moment. Here we go.

Allons-y.

Choices of the week #8

if only it was warmer. No wait, 14°C today. it's tropical man!
"Oh the weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go.Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! " And read the weekly review of, in my point of view, the best wargaming posts. But remember, if you find a good blog, just tell me. I might not know it.

Hop.

Choices of the week #7

Barely dropped my luggage at my parents' house, and I'm up and running. I can't let you down, especially when, like last week, about 800 posts were published. I might be on holidays, but it not a reason for not being serious ;)

Allez hop

Choices of the week #6

Time for our weekly rendez-vous, fellow readers. Around 800 posts were published this week, in the blogs I usually follow. Yup, that's quite a lot, but I managed to select some, for your eyes only. And remember, should you know a blog, tell me about it. I'm always eager to discover new ones. Cheers.

Choices of the week #5

Huget scores!
Is this our 5th rendez-vous? Already? Well, not bad at all. I'm still motivated to continue this series, so here we go. But just before beginning our wonderful tour of the wargaming blogosphere, a quick message to our fellow from the UK (ok , I live here, but hey): We won! We won! In the nick of time, and after a great game, in which everything could have happened. Well played England, but, we were the best!
