SAGA: 1+1=6

Hi there. Yesterday was the last day for our painting comp between Vincent, Benoit and I. Both Benoit and Vincent failed to achieve 6 points, but managed to paint 4 SAGA points. Well, I can announce I've painted 5 SAGA points, 6 if my warlord, also painted is Harald ;) which I intend to do. Erm, I confess the paintjob is barely tabletop, but I hate plastic. The minis are Wargames Factory plastics Tamsin sold me last Thursday, to represent 2 points of Hearthguards ;). I might go later for one point of warriors, just in case.

Vincent et Benoit ont annonce avoir rate leur POM SAGA, a savoir peindre 6 points pour SAGA. Ils en ont tout de meme peint 4 c'est deja pas mal. Bon, la peinture est moyenne, mais franchement je n'ai pas aime peindre ces figs plastique de chez Wargames Factory. Elles representent 2 points de Hearthguards, et avec mon heros Harald, j'arrive a 6 points. J'ai juste oublie de sortir mon heros, mais il est peint egalement ;)

SAGA, part 3. Already?

Hi everyone. I still have until tomorrow to paint a full 6 points Saga Warband. it's possible since I'm cheating a bit, but then, I don't think I'll be able to post, so I think you should be able to see them on Monday. Anyway. Here is my third point, 4 Hearthguards. Easy and fast to paint. About 3h for the lot, because I did something else at the same time, but shhhh

Et hop, 4 Hearthguards qui me font 1 point SAGA de plus. Il m'en reste donc 3 a peindre pour reussir le pari lance par Vincent. C'est jouable, vu que je vais tricher un peu... Ces 4 figs representent environ 3h de boulot, vu que j'ai fait d'autres trucs en meme temps ;)

SAGA Fest

Yesterday evening, we were about 14 people who decided to have a SAGA Fest, ie a gaming night full of warbands. And as you can see, it was a jolly good night, with Normans, Anglo-Danes, some Scots and lots of Vikings. It was my first games, followed by many others that night ( 4 in total) and I had a lot of fun. Definitely a game to play again some time.

An Epic SAGA: 2nd point done!

Hi gents, and ladies. No, I didn't paint this last point in one go, in less than a day. Though I started last Friday. I used a new technique, based on white primer, inks, paints and washes. It's far from being perfect at the moment, because I'm still experimenting, but I have some ideas now, and it is fast. About 5 hours to paint those guys. You will excuse me about the pics quality but the weather is, shall we say, a bit rainy. Figures again from Gripping Beast. They were not so good this time, full of flash in small or hidden areas, Impossible to remove completely without hacking into the minis. Sad. Anyway. Now I'm onto my Third point, which who be far easier to do ;)

Non, je n'ai pas peint cette unite en une journee. Pour etre honnete, je l'ai commencee vendredi dernier, utilisant ma nouvelle technique: sous-couche blance, encres, peintures et lavis. C'est loin d'etre parfait mais je debute, j'experimente. Toutefois, je peux dire que ca va plus vite, car l'unite etait terminee en 5h environ. Les figs sont des GRipping Beasts, meme si la gravure etait moins bonne avec des defauts de moulage dans des endroits difficiles d'acces, impossibles a supprimer sans detruire la fig. Dommage.

My Epic SAGA, 1st point done

First, because I know you want the minis, go to Tamsin's blog to enter her prize draw (either Fow or painted minis).

Now, on to more serious matter. I've entered a SAGA campaign at my club, and I need one, maybe two points for Thursday. Don't worry, they'll be ready. in the mean time, I have to paint 6 points for Sunday, as painting comp launched by my friend Vincent. I might be able to do it. Here is the first point, 8 warriors, from Gripping Beast. They were painted on bare metal. I think it was the last time for me, too time consuming. You'll see the next batch very soon;)

Retour sur le front SAGA, avec mon premier point termine. Il ne manque plus que les finitions sur les socles. Comme je participe a une campagne au club, il me faut 1-2 points d'ici jeudi, ce qui est largement faisable. Dans le meme temps, d'ici dimanche, je dois peindre 6 points pour la POM lancee par Vincent. Ce sera plus chaud pour moi, mais jouable egalement si je ne suis pas distrait. Les figs sont des Gripping Beasts, peintes selon  mon "ancienne" technique de peinture a meme la fig sans sous-couche. Un poil trop long pour moi, j'ai decide de changer mon fusil d'epaule.

A SAGA about to begin, part 1

Yesterday evening, while watching the Euro games, though not very seriously, I finally started painting my first SAGA point, some Bondi. I admit it's not much at the moment, but I'm struggling with the scale, not being very familiar with it. The minis are from Gripping Beast, and seem to be easy to paint. More to come asap ;)

Et voila, j'ai enfin commence a peindre mes Vikings SAGA. Certes il n'y a qu'un point de guerriers, mais il faut s'habituer a l'echelle, et moi le 28mm... Les figs sont des Gripping Beast et me paraissent faciles a peindre. La suite tres bientot.
